Letter "K" ~ Making Kebabs.

This week in Room 1 we have been learning all about the letter k. We read the book "Hedgehog Fun" and then decided to make our own kebabs.
First we peeled the fruit then we cut or split up it up ready to go onto our kebab sticks.
It was now time to make our kebabs choosing the fruit we wanted as well as a marshmallow or 2.
They were soooooo yummy we all made another one.

Separating the grapes.

Peeling and cutting up the kiwi fruit.

Dicing the apples.

More kiwi fruit to cut.

Putting out kebabs together.

Sliding each piece of fruit on carefully.

Waiting expectantly.

Certainly a full kebab stick here.

All finished and time to eat!!!!!

Zumba Action

The last 2 Thursday mornings have seen the whole school join Keri for 30 minute Zumba sessions. Room 1 loves going to Zumba and as you can see from the photos we are all awesome movers and shakers!

Hows this for some moves?

Such concentration!

When does this get tricky?

Doing the robot!

Groovy!

We love dancing to the "Olden Days" music. Here we are doing YMCA.

More "Old School" music - Doing the Twist.

'The Twist' is pretty tiring.

Line dancing~Zumba style. We are sooooo cool.

Gotta get our legs and arms working together.

These new moves take a bit of concentration.

Moving so fast even the camera can't keep up.

Don't you love the fast ones?

River Dance eat your heart out!!!!!

The whole of Room 1 are outstanding at Zumba and we can't wait til next week.

Thanks Keri.

Visit to Cobblestones Museum on Thursday

WOW!!!!

What an awesome day we had.
Even though the weather was a tad cold we still traveled to Cobblestones on Thursday morning to experience some of the things from yesteryear.
We were first divided into 3 groups and got to experience first hand a school lesson from the early 1900's, copper plate printing and a ride in an old car. After that we walked around the museum looking at how things were either the same or different compared to life today.
The start of our day.

Heading to the school room.

Time for lessons.

Our teacher from the "Olden Days"

In the printing room.

Riding in the car.

Look at the desks we had to sit at.

Des and the boys on a break.

Some surprising information was learnt!

It was a long lesson.

Tough times at school in the "Old Days"

It was interesting hearing about how newspapers used to be made.

We loved the car ride. Can we go all the way back to school in this car?

We had an awesome day and we would never have got to go without the support of all the wonderful parents who drove us there. Thanks Emma Hepburn, Heidi Andreawartha, Reagan Sherriff, Sonia Falloon, Emma and Nathan Robinson.
